Have a heart for animals on Valentine's Day

The Escondido Humane Society is asking everyone to have a heart for homeless animals this Valentine's Day by adopting a pet from our shelter. We will be having a sweetheart of an adoption special this Saturday and Sunday that we hope will inspire you to consider adoption at EHS. On both days, all pets can be adopted for $14 off their regular adoption fees*!

There will be plenty of opportunities to meet our pets this weekend even if you can’t make it out to the shelter. We are having two outreaches this Saturday: one at PetSmart Escondido, 415 N. Escondido Blvd., and the other at Kahoots, 334 W. El Norte Parkway. Then on Valentine’s Day, some of our foster dogs will be making an appearance at Cupids and Canines in San Diego. We hope you will take the event’s tag line to heart: “If you're dreading yet another loveless Valentine's Day ... don't dismay! Love is just a leash away.” Visit http://sdshelters.com/ to learn more about this fun event.

The Escondido Humane Society Adoption Center, located at 3450 E. Valley Parkway, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. Call (760) 888-2247 or visit http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/ for more information.

* Regular adoption fees are $160 for puppies and kittens up to 6 months; $110 for adult dogs and cats (6 months to 7 years); $55 for senior dogs and cats (7 years and up); and $45 for all ages of rabbits. All adoption fees include spay/neuter; microchip; up-to-date vaccinations; dog licensing (Escondido, San Marcos and Poway areas only); wellness exam after adoption; bag of food; discounts at local pet supply, grooming and boarding partners; and behavior support for dogs and cats for the lifetime of the animal.
