Special dog

Every animal that comes to the Escondido Humane Society touches us in some way. But every now and then one comes to us that really tugs at our heart. One such dog is Luna, a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix. Luna came to the Escondido Humane Society when a good Samaritan picked her up off the streets in Escondido, badly injured from what appeared to be an attack by a larger animal. But that wasn't all: Luna was also pregnant with three puppies. She had to undergo an emergency C-section, and, sadly, her puppies were too premature and didn't make it.

But that wasn't the end of her story: Luna can no longer use her back legs as a result of her injuries from the attack. Luna was quickly taken under our wings, and she is now in a loving foster home where she is beginning to thrive. What about her back legs, you ask? Take a look at the following photos to see how Luna is now getting around.
