Escondido Humane Society Pets of the Week

We have many wonderful animals looking for good homes, and I would like to start featuring them here on the blog every week. This week's special pets are Snowflake, Dolly, Sheena, Kate, and Jelly Bean and Truffle.

Snowflake
Hi everyone, I'm Snowflake, a beautiful 6-year-old pit bull mix. I am super smart and eager to please, so with some obedience training I will be the most devoted dog ever! I already have a few tricks up my sleeve, including sitting on command. I get along with other dogs and have a few playmates here at the shelter that I LOVE to play with. If I am going to have a canine companion, I would prefer a bigger dog, though. I am an energetic girl and would make the perfect hiking or running partner. But don't worry, I also have a couch potato side and would be a terrific snuggle buddy at the end of the day! Adopt Snowflake at the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Call (760) 888-2247 or go to http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/ for more information.

Dolly
"I said my name's, Dolly, well, my name's, Dolly, It will be so nice to find a home where I belong!" OK, so those arent really the words to "Hello Dolly," but I had to rewrite them to match me, Dolly, a 4-year-old mover and shaker awaiting my forever home. I have tons of energy and really love to play and run. All the volunteers here just love me and my silly ways, and you should see the way I wiggle with excitement when I see my friends coming to take me out! I'm super smart and learn quickly, so obedience training will be a breeze with me. I can get a little possessive of my toys and treats (I had to fight for food in my past ... oh, it's a long story), so I'd probably do best in a home with no small children. I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Don't get me wrong, I like some dogs, but I'm picky about who I share my people's attention with. Stop by soon and sing me a tune, maybe something like: "You're lookin' swell, Dolly ... I can tell, Dolly; You're still glowin' ... you're still crowin' ... you're still goin' strong!" Adopt Dolly at the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Call (760) 888-2247 or go to http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/ for more information.
Sheena
Visit our Adoption Center, and you cannot miss Sheena, a 3-year-old spayed domestic shorthair. She's become our official greeter! Sheena is a smart, social and absolutely lovable cat who never ceases to make us laugh. Every morning, she makes her rounds and visits all staff and volunteers, meowing in each office and nuzzling our faces before her morning snooze. Sheena had a rough start in life. It took her quite some time to come out of her shell, but boy, has she ever. Sheena enjoys taunting dogs (she knows the exact length of a leash, stands one additional inch away, and meows) and is picky with her cat friends. Isnt that the cat for you? Adopt Sheena at the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Call (760) 888-2247 or go to http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/ for more information.

Kate
Hi! I'm Kate, and I love to give love as much as I recieve it! I was found in Poway and came into the shelter as a stray. I would do best in a cat-savvy home. I am best in a house with no small children and no other kitties. I am truly a princess. If you're interested in getting a lovely kitty, stop by the Escondido Humane Society, call (760) 888-2247, or go to http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/.

Jelly Bean and Truffle
Jelly Bean is a 9-month-old Dutch mix. She is devoted to her sister, Truffle, so they must go as a pair. Jelly Bean and Truffle have been waiting for their new home since April. They are sweet girls who are a little bit shy, but they like to be petted and tolerate being held. They really like playing in their Cottontail Cottage and would like to be housed in an x-pen setup. They will do best in a quieter household and should do well with a gentle dog and cats. Jelly Bean and Truffle are at the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Parkway.
