Until the end of October, which is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month, anyone who has adopted from the Escondido Humane Society in the past year (since September 2008) and has proof of adoption can adopt an adult dog or puppy at NO COST! All adopters from the past year are eligible, including those who took home a bunny or cat. First-time adopters haven’t been forgotten: Also until the end of October, all new adopters can take home a dog or puppy for 50 percent off the regular adoption fees. The Escondido Humane Society Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week (except for Thursdays, when we stay open til 7 p.m.).
