"I just wanted to give you a little update on Patches. Her new name is Louise, but I call her Ouiser (sounds like "wheezer". . . don't know if you've seen "Steel Magnolias," but it's a character from that). Anyway, she's still doing very well. I gave her a bit of a haircut today; I think it looks a lot better, and she'll be more comfortable. She gets cold, so I had to get her a jacket for the mornings and evenings - it didn't seem like her long hair was working very well with the jacket coming on and off all the time. ... Now, you wouldn't believe it, but she's actually hard to capture on film. I've tried to take some pictures of her, but she just doesn't stop moving!"
The Escondido Humane Society is having an adoption special for senior pets in the month of November to help them all find happy endings like Louise's (aka Patches). Seniors (ages 7 and older) can be adopted for just $27.50, which includes microchip, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and more. Call the Escondido Humane Society at (760) 888-2247 for more information, or visit us online at http://www.escondidohumanesociety.org/.
