Sugar and Haley on Channel 7/39 News
Escondido Humane Society animal services officers came upon a heartbreaking scene the day they confiscated Haley and Sugar from a home in San Marcos in August 2008. Both horses, who are between the ages of 3 and 5, were extremely emaciated and showed signs of severe neglect. Haley and Sugar have since recovered from their ordeal, and Haley has been adopted into a loving home.

Cute pic of the day
Adoptable dogs Chloe and Chevy have a close bond, as you can see by this picture! Here is more info about this cute pair:
Chevy (the Chihuahua, enjoying his cushy bed) is an all-around awesome dog! Chevy loves everyone, has passed behavior testing with flying colors and adores attention. He loves to go for walks and play with toys. Chevy is best friends with Chloe, the Lab (Animal ID 41805). Chloe also loves everyone, has passed behavior testing with flying colors and adores attention. She loves to snuggle, has the required "Lab wiggle," and enjoys walks in the sunshine. We would love to keep this odd couple together. Chevy and Chloe were found wandering the streets of Escondido together and have remained best friends. Both dogs are on the "honor roll" of good behavior and would be well-suited to most terrific homes. They are both mellow, sweet, and waggily greet their people friends in between naps. They are eager to find someone to call their own.
During October, the Escondido Humane Society is promoting these two with a free "buddy" adoption special – adopt both dogs for the price of one! The adoption fee is $55 for both and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip identification and vet exam. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Call 760-888-2247.
